The son I never lost!

He has passed away as some may say; God did save his soul,

I have no dismay.

At the age of 52 he was younger than me and many of you.

He was so loved by his Grandma, my Mom, she considered him

like Jesus, God’s right arm.

She said he was sent from above, an object of God’s love.

Even though he is with you Lord, does it still hurt yet? You bet!

He is with all our loved ones above, those who Jesus has set free from

Satan’s Kingdom, the prisoners, delivered by his Love.

We do not sorrow as the world does for their own, those without faith,

having  no hope for tomorrow.

Living in a time when hope is veiled, we have God’s sure word,

his love never fails!

God is love and always true to believers, me and you, trust not in the arm

of flesh which will always fail, have faith in Jesus Christ and on the wings

of Eagles you will sail!

Adam died yet he still speaks as Jesus did say, my son does also, by the way.

So he is the God of the living, not the dead, for they are all alive to him.” Luke 20:38 NLT.

Jesus told her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying. John 11:25 NLT.

Who’s in charge?

I know many of you are worried about not having a roof over your heads, jobs and fear of what lies ahead and those who rule over us.  When we read Romans Chapter 13 we find that God is the only one who puts rulers in power.

Everyone must submit to governing authorities. For all authority comes from God, and those in positions of authority have been placed there by God. Romans 13:1 NLT.

When we read God’s word we see how Kings and Rulers are subject to His will. Babylon was one of the world’s wonders; its “Hanging Gardens” must have been a sight to be seen! Jehoiachin King of Judah did much evil in the Lord’s sight as did his Father before him. As a result God sent Nebuchadnezzar King of Babylon and his armies against Jehoiachin and conquered him. He, his wife, family and the treasures of the temple were carried off to Babylon.

As the LORD had declared, Nebuchadnezzar removed all the treasures from the temple of the LORD and from the royal palace, and took away all the gold articles that Solomon king of Israel had made for the temple of the LORD 2-Kings 24:13 NLT.

King Nebuchadnezzar took all of Jerusalem captive, including all the commanders and the best of the soldiers, craftsmen, and artisans–10,000 in all. Only the poorest people were left in the land.

Note: he left the poorest people in the land! Jesus said; “Blessed are the poor, theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven”.

Surely you wouldn’t do such a thing, destroying the righteous along with the wicked. Why, you would be treating the righteous and the wicked exactly the same! Surely you wouldn’t do that! Should not the Judge of all the earth do what is right?” Genesis 18:25 NLT.

This great King Nebuchadnezzar whom God had raised up to carry out his justice upon his people the Jews. I see it that the Lord kept his people and the treasure of the Temple safe in Babylon. (One day God would send them back to the Land he promised them through Abraham) King Nebuchadnezzar while looking over his great Kingdom said; “This all came about by my own hand”. (Paraphrased) God wasn’t pleased with this and his punishment was that he would become as an animal eating grass on all fours.

You will be driven away from people and will live with the wild animals; you will eat grass like cattle. Seven times will pass by for you until you acknowledge that the Most High is sovereign over the kingdoms of men and gives them to anyone he wishes.” Daniel 4:32 NIV.

He was driven from human society. He was given the mind of a wild animal, and he lived among the wild donkeys. He ate grass like a cow, and he was drenched with the dew of heaven, until he learned that the Most High God rules over the kingdoms of the world and appoints anyone he desires to rule over them. Daniel 5:21 NLT. When the Lord restored Nebuchadnezzar to his right mind he praised God declaring him ruler over the whole world. Who can resist his will? NO ONE!

I believe my point is made! As a Christian I believe it is the Lord who allows Kings, Rulers and Presidents to come to power and he can turn their hearts any way he wills!

For the Scriptures say that God told Pharaoh, “I have appointed you for the very purpose of displaying my power in you and to spread my fame throughout the earth.” Romans 9:17 NLT.

Rulers are not to be feared unless you are doing wrong, when they do wrong they have God to fear, the Bible proves this.

So anyone who rebels against authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and they will be punished. Romans 13:2 NLT.

What do you think the Lord sees in our Nation today? Does He approve of the 20 million abortions and the rejection of the rule of Law? All human life from conception is from God and they are created in his own image and likeness! Read what God has said in regards to those who commit murder.

If anyone takes a human life, that person’s life will also be taken by human hands. For God made human beings in his own image. Genesis 9:6 NLT.

Note: Execution for this crime is not murder; it is “Killing” which God allows. Murder as said in the Commandments is a sin against God. Jesus said that Satan was a murderer from the beginning and the Father of lies, God hates both by the way!

The Lord says to whom much is given, much is required. No King, Ruler or President is above God’s rule, those who do good are blessed, those who do evil are judged by him, he gives them time to repent, if they do not he removes them. We know through History the things that have happened to unjust and immoral rulers, none are out of God’s righteous judgment. As he said to our Lord Jesus; “Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies your footstool”. Any unjust King, Ruler or President is God’s enemy according to his word, he does not tolerate Lawlessness for long!

I want to encourage all not to lose heart, God is in charge! Remember when God poured out his judgments upon Egypt, his people were in the land of Goshen and not affected. Believers today are under his protection and care; we all are in our own “Land Of Goshen” so to speak.

It is my hope and prayer that all who read this will be comforted and uplifted, cast all your cares upon Jesus for he cares for you. Be not dismayed, the Lord God Reigns. For those in the faith he causes all things to work for good!

And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. Romans 8:28 NLT.

I was young and now I am old, yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread. Psalm 37:25 NIV.

We continue to pray for all those poor people who are suffering as a result of that horrible storm, Lord help them quickly in their needs.

A still small voice, not a tremendous noise!

I remember reading about God’s Prophet Elijah, he was used mightily by the Lord but when Jezebel threatened to take his life he went a day’s journey into the wilderness to hide from her.

But he himself went a day’s journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a juniper tree; and he requested for himself that he might die, and said, “It is enough; now, O LORD, take my life, for I am not better than my fathers.” 1-Kings 19:4 NASB.

What is amazing is that Elijah had called down fire from heaven upon King Ahab’s fifty men twice, destroying them both times and yet a threat from Jezebel caused him much fear.

Elijah replied to the captain of fifty, “If I am a man of God, let fire come down from heaven and consume you and your fifty.” Then fire came down from heaven and consumed him and his fifty. 2-Kings 1:10 NASB.

Twice the King had sent fifty men and twice fire came down from Heaven and killed them. The third fifty sent, the Captain begged the Prophet for their lives!

Jezebel was a heathen Princess who became Ahab’s Queen, she ran the show with Ahab being just a figure head, a rubber stamp for her actions. A wicked woman was she, who had many of God’s Prophets murdered. She worshiped many false god’s. Her husband King Ahab lost his life because he allowed her to worship her Pagan gods among God’s people in their land.

*When she threatened God’s Prophet Elijah she lost her own life, she was thrown out a window and dashed to pieces on the pavement below and the dogs ate her body. Even today her name is used as a synonym for a wicked woman as found in the Book of Revelation. “Behold, I will throw her on a bed of sickness, and those who commit adultery with her into great tribulation, unless they repent of her deeds”. Revelation 2:22 NASB..

*So Jezebel sent this message to Elijah: “May the gods strike me and even kill me if by this time tomorrow I have not killed you just as you killed them.” 1-Kings 19:2 NLT.

While hiding in the wilderness, the Angels (Angel cake food, not likely!) fed Elijah who was so weak and discouraged that he wanted to die, truly a man like us. (I believe the food given by the Angels to Elijah was like the “Manna” given to God’s people in the wilderness. It sustained Elijah and nourished his body).

Go out and stand before me on the mountain,” the LORD told him. And as Elijah stood there, the LORD passed by, and a mighty windstorm hit the mountain. It was such a terrible blast that the rocks were torn loose, but the LORD was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake. 1-Kings 19:11 NLT. And after the earthquake there was a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire. And after the fire there was the sound of a gentle whisper. 1-Kings 19:12 NLT.

A gentle whisper, a small voice, this fits perfectly with God’s voice in our hearts. As Elijah had thought and as humans would believe today that the awesome events had to be God but they were not, he was in the whisper! It is the Holy Spirit who is that voice; “Not by might, not by power, but my Spirit says the Lord”. It is NOT through the “Carnal/Human” mind that God speaks to us today as He has spoken to His servants before. The Carnal mind whether they are believers or unbelievers CANNOT receive the things of God. Unbelievers can NEVER hear Him, believers can hear Him again when they repent from their carnality. (When we WILFULLY sin, we cannot hear God). Jezebel crept into Church and had led some believers to commit adultery. Her punishment along with those who engaged in this deadly sin was just. Jesus had warned them about this. No one in the Church, even today escapes His judgment/examination of our deeds, Jezebel was a warning to the Church, be sure your sins will find you out!

For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God’s law; indeed, it cannot. Romans 8:7 ESV.

In order to hear God’s “Still small voice” we must be “Tuned In”, our minds set on Jesus our devotion to him. Abhor sin, love good works, don’t doubt, ask our Father for more of the Holy Spirit as Jesus said. When you pray, take time to be “Still” and listen for God’s whisper from the Holy Spirit. I have heard Him like a thought in my mind through my spirit, I knew it was not my own thought as I questioned it. It was in my sleep when I heard the word “Psalms” which I questioned by thinking Psalms? Then I heard like a whisper; “Psalm 129:5 verse 5”.

When I got up Sunday morning I remembered what I heard in my mind that night but did not understand what it meant so I looked in my Bible for that scripture and verse. The scripture read; “May all who hate Zion be put to shame and turned backwards.” After I read it I was puzzled and prayed; “Lord what does this mean, who is Zion?”. The Lord said to me in my mind; “The true Zion of God is every believer in Jesus Christ whether Jew or Gentile” This fits perfectly with what Paul the Apostle answered in regard to the question one may ask; “Who is a true Jew?”. It is not one born of the flesh, as the seed of Abraham was from the promise through faith to God’s chosen ones, not the children born of the flesh! Remember Jesus replying to those who boasted that they were descendants of Abraham, Jesus replied; “God can make these stones descendants of Abraham”. What Jesus confirmed was only those of the spiritual seed of Abraham would believe in Him.

In other words, it is not the natural children who are God’s children, but it is the children of the promise who are regarded as Abraham’s offspring. Romans 9:8 NIV.

No, a true Jew is one whose heart is right with God. And true circumcision is not merely obeying the letter of the law; rather, it is a change of heart produced by God’s Spirit. And a person with a changed heart seeks praise from God, not from people. Romans 2:29 NLT.

This verse confirms the words of Jesus that Jew and Gentile must be “Born Again”, born from above, regenerated by the Holy Spirit, believing in Jesus as their Lord and Saviour. As the verse states, this circumcision of the heart (Spirit) is through Grace and not the Law or good works.

I know today that the Lord gave me that scripture to comfort me through all my many trials and persecutions, He considers me true Zion, a true Jew in my spirit and worshiper of God. Those who had persecuted me were put to shame and turned backwards, exactly as He had told me.

In the early Church the Holy Spirit spoke to the Apostles, remember HE is a person, God, the Holy Spirit and can be grieved by willful sinning.

Elijah learned a lesson from God that He is concerned and cares for us. He saw his Prophet being weak and filled with fear and came to his rescue with heavenly food and more important He gave him a special revelation of Himself. His power working through the Holy Spirit, supernaturally, not by might or earthly powers.

When all is lost, hope remains, a poem
(A poem for the weary and down trodden.)
I hope, comes the desire from your heart when things look dim. You have much hurt and pain coming from within. You are not alone in your sorrow, many cannot face tomorrow. To whom can you go for help in this world today, when you have needs, do some run away? This world will laugh and have fun with you, to this it is prone. When you cry and are in distress, do you find yourself alone? What is the sure hope you need to find? His name is Jesus, get him on your mind. He will turn your darkness into day, you will hope in him, for he is the way! When you have found Jesus he will make all things new, A special place in Heaven he will save, just for you! Now you look around at his beautiful creation and say, its wonderful and the sky is so blue. Isn’t he wonderful, isn’t he grand, the God Man who takes us sinners by the hand. Into our world this hope has dawned, to save the down trodden and those who mourn. “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. Matthew 5:4 NASB. “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28 NASB. Author Ken May 2012

Did I hear a knock? A poem

Was there someone knocking on my door? I do remember them, they had been here before.

This woman is starting to annoy me, an Attorney with her I did not see, I wish she would stop bugging me.

She comes before me every day with the same complaint, by the way, how can I make her just go away?

I am a Judge who can rule yay or nay but this woman is here to stay, what can I do to keep her out of my way?

Oh, now I see it, now I know, I’ll rule in her favor and then she will go!

But this woman is driving me crazy. I’m going to see that she gets justice, because she is wearing me out with her constant requests!  Luke 18:5 NLT.

Jesus used this example of the unjust Judge ruling for this poor woman who didn’t have an Attorney. He said this to encourage Christians to keep knocking, keep asking through prayer.

Even he rendered a just decision in the end. So don’t you think God will surely give justice to his chosen people who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? Luke 18:7 NLT

Would you dare to trust God?

I recall reading in Christian magazine an article about trusting God.

The article stirred me to wonder how much I trusted the Lord. In his word he has many promises; one is that he would; “Supply all our Needs”.

And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:19 NASB.

As a Christian I knew that only faith pleases God and without faith it is impossible to please him!

And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him. Hebrews 11:6 NLT.

I want to share with you my personal true life experience when I prayed and told the Lord; “I will dare to trust you”.

Even strong young lions sometimes go hungry, but those who trust in the LORD will lack no good thing. Psalm 34:10 NLT. This was one of my Mom’s favorite scriptures.

I was on a bus on my way to work when on that morning I had prayed that prayer. It was a Friday and I was to begin a two week vacation, we had just moved into our new home and I had spent all my vacation pay on bills.

I called my wife later in the day; she asked me if I got paid as she needed to go food shopping. I explained about paying the bills and that we were broke, she was shocked and said; “What are we going to do?” my response was; “Let God worry about it”. I surprised myself with the words that I had just said, they were not disrespectful but were from faith and I left this need in his hands.

I had perfect peace while I was walking to our home that afternoon. I did ask the Lord this question; “Lord, you know I only have some change in my pocket”.

Then I heard in my mind; “There is a check”, I asked; “A check? ”. When my wife opened the front door I walked right by her not saying a word, I went directly to the kitchen table, picked up the newspaper hiding the check. My wife said; “how did you know?’ I said; “The Lord through the Holy Spirit had told me”.  She then told me when she first checked the mail box it was empty but she felt prompted to check it a second time. When she put her hand in the box again, she found the check lying flat against the front of the box. She thought she would surprise me by hiding the check under the newspaper on the kitchen table but the Holy Spirit had told me where it was. The Lord wanted my wife to see for herself the result of trusting Him. She now realized that only God  knew where she had hidden the check and then she knew he had revealed it to me! This may seem strange to some people. The Christian walk is a “Supernatural” walk and only those who have received the Holy Spirit with his “Gift” of faith can understand or experience it! In God’s word we read that an iron axe head floated, a donkey spoke, ravens fed God’s man, Peter walked on water. Is anything too hard for God?

Note: The check was from money my wife was owed from the company she had recently retired from.

I have shared previously that the promises of God are conditional, exercising your faith is foremost; obedience from the heart is the key. We learn in God’s word that once we have believed in the Lord Jesus, we are to first grow as babes in Christ desiring the “Milk” of the word. Then diligently seeking the Lord in order to become the “Mature” Christian led by the Holy Spirit, doing God’s Will. (Hebrews 11:6)

Obedience leads to the studying of God’s word in order to show yourselves approved by God and not be ashamed.

Then the promises of God will be yours, we ourselves have seen them come true in our own lives, dare to trust God!

So that you will not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises. Hebrews 6:12 NASB.

A stranger in a lost Paradise. A poem
I think I do need someone to hold my hand in this strange land. A Rose is beautiful but it will stick you with the thorn hidden from your view, be careful lest the dog or snake bite you on the hand. I like when it’s warm, hate when it’s cold, in the winter, the fire place really warms the soul especially when you have grown old. Why am I a stranger in this lost land? I was born from above, a “New Creation” saved by Jesus and his love. A citizen of Heaven am I, my true home is beyond the Sky! One day I will fly away, Jesus is coming for me, all his Glory I will see, forever with him I will stay. God’s curse has been upon this earth to this day, no one but he can take it away. We all groan with dismay, so much pain and suffering are here today, when will it end we pray. There is hope I can say, the Lord will remove the curse from the earth, you can know this through the new birth. When Jesus returns and sets up his 1000 year reign, all the creatures will love us again; even the Lion will be your friend. With the curse lifted, the earth will be gifted, milk and honey will flow, much abundance you will know. We are citizens of heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives. And we are eagerly waiting for him to return as our Savior Philippians 3:20 NLT.
No longer will there be a curse upon anything. For the throne of God and of the Lamb will be there, and his servants will worship him Revelation 22:3 NLT The cow will graze near the bear. The cub and the calf will lie down together. The lion will eat hay like a cow. Isaiah 11:7 NLT . The baby will play safely near the hole of a cobra. Yes, a little child will put its hand in a nest of deadly snakes without harm Isaiah 11:8 NLT.
The wolf and the lamb will feed together. The lion will eat hay like a cow. But the snakes will eat dust. In those days no one will be hurt or destroyed on my holy mountain. I, the LORD, have spoken!” Isaiah 65:25 NLT
These are wonderful promises from God, the earth returning to Paradise conditions. We will be back as it was in the Garden of Eden with the Lord, sin gone forever never again to separate us from the Lord,  the earth never again cursed but forever blessed.

Nice guys finish last, really?
Do you mean the other kind treats you fine? You may think that after drinking some wine. Maybe you should consider asking the Divine to send the one to get on your mind? Who with you will go, with them, much joy will flow. You need someone who will deny himself, your feelings in him will be heartfelt! Nice guys do not finish last, those who are in Christ truly have class. Those who are last shall be first, when you know Jesus, you will not thirst. *When of the Lord you have asked, he will send to you one whose love will last.
*True love gives rather than takes, God’s Holy Spirit gives this gift of love to every believer.
We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love. God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them 1-John 4:16 NLT.

God’s special salt.
You won’t find it in your shaker, it is something very special, made by our Maker. It is a spiritual salt you see, a blend of Him and me. Do you need more flavor in your life, is it filled with strife? Taste and see what God has done for thee, light for darkness to disperse, the believer is the salt of the earth. The sea salt I put on my steak is fine but God’s salt is divine! We must keep our eyes on Jesus so our taste is not lost, remembering He bought this salt, not counting the cost.
You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt has become tasteless, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. Matthew 5:13 NASB.
When Christians become conformed to the world in it’s rebellion against God, they become “tasteless”, no light to shine, no peace, no joy. Backsliders get what they deserve; good people receive their reward Proverbs 14:14 NLT.
When believers stay close to the Lord Jesus their light will shine through their good works, their salt will not lose its taste!

Esther, what a knockout!
King Ahasuerus, from his harem did pick a Queen, she was something that many eyes had not seen. *Queen of Persia she became, everyone knew her name. A wicked man named Haman caught the King’s ear, the plot he hatched caused Esther much fear. Her cousin Mordecai, his life was on the line, for he to hang on the gallows, Haman thought was just fine. He was in for a surprise, God has sent Esther to the King to reveal his lies. Through Haman the King had issued his decree, death to all the Jews, Esther knew it included she. She dressed up in her beautiful robes and makeup. Her goal was to stop Haman, his plan to shakeup. Boldly into the Kings inner chamber she did go, uninvited, to do this was death she did know.
The King was smitten by her beauty and attire, His Queen he did much admire. His heart melted that day, to her, half his Kingdom he gave away! She told the King she was a Jew, she did not lie, and for her people, she was willing to die. She and her people were saved, the Bible tells us so, to the gallows the evil Haman did go.
*In this story of Esther I see the Church in all its Beauty and glory. Loved by the Father, purchased by the Son as a chaise Bride, without spot or wrinkle.
And since we are his children, we are his heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God’s glory. But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering. Romans 8:17 NLT
The Book of Esther is a great Old Testament read, by the way!
